Un jour de juillet plombé de chaleur, Sarah (qui officie dans Fiasco et Heliums) s'est mise à enregistrer quelques reprises sur son ordi. Le Velvet Underground, Christophe, Gainsbourg, Pete Doherty (...) sont autant de noms qui se sont ainsi retrouvés dans ce dossier de covers, qu'elle a choisi d'appeler simplement From July. 

On est tombé sous le charme de cette petite compilation et de ses ambiances aériennes, assez proches de Mazzy Star (voire de Cocorosie, sur les choeurs), et on a donc proposé à Sarah d'en faire une petite cassette. Pour l'occasion, la jeune chanteuse a décidé de prendre le nom de tahar, qui sera désormais certainement son alias pour d'autres travaux en solo.

La pochette, elle, représente simplement la fenêtre qu'elle avait face à elle, alors qu'elle enregistrait ces reprises.

A day of July, leadened with heat, Sarah (who’s also playing with Fiasco & Heliums) started to record a few covers on her laptop. The Velvet Underground, Christophe, Pete Doherty, Gainsbourg (…) stand among other names you can find in this file, that she simply chosed to call From July.

We fell under the charm of this small compilation and of its airy ambiances that are close to Mazzy Star (nay Cocorosie, for the choirs). And we decided to make a tape of From July. For the nonce, the young singer has decided to take the name of tahar, which should also be her alias for upcoming solo projects.

The cover art simply represents the window that was in front of her, while she was recording these covers.
