Les Spacemen 3 avaient leur “Taking Drugs to Make Music to Take Drugs To”. Le premier album à paraître d’Hoorsees aurait lui très bien pu s'intituler “Being sad to make music to be sad to”.

Spacemen 3 had their « Taking Drugs to make music to take drugs to ». Hoorsees’ first record could have been named « Being sad to make music to be sad to ». During these uncertain times, their music seems to act like a balm, especially if you like indie rock, a bit emo, tainted by a 90s flavor.
Recorded in mid-fi, this first record confirms the promises which had been glimpsed by their first EP, « Major League Of Pain ».
This record is a perfect mix of Pavement’s clumsiness and of Alex G’s teenage sensibility, with rainy guitars, melodies that are more effective than a Konami Code. With his deep and resounding voice, Alexin sincerely sings his ways to escape nervous breakdowns (Videogales, Overdry), tells his leitmotiv (Get Tired) and drowns ourselves into a bittersweet daily life, that is built by love, morosity and boredom (Instant Tea, Major league). To be short, twenty years later, Hoorsees may have created the best BO of Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2.
